Governor Gboyega Oyetola, the incumbent and APC flagbearer, was knocked to the ground by Senator Ademola Adeleke, the PDP’s candidate (APC).
Adeleke received 403,371 votes in the final results declared by the returning officer, Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, defeating Governor Oyetola of the APC, who received 375,027 votes and was his closest rival.
